HOGMANAY DURING THE DAY BALLOCH
West Dunbartonshire Council proudly presents a brand new, free event - “Hogmanay during the Day” - a New Year celebration at Moss ‘O’ Balloch which runs from 1pm to 4.30pm on Wednesday, 31 December, with a fabulous line up of musical entertainment. X Factor finalists, The MacDonald Brothers will be headlining. Dynamic 5 piece band, the Raggle Taggle Gypsies will be performing, plus funky pipe and drums act, Celtic Spirit and local talent Alana Wright.
Provost Denis Agnew says, "This is to celebrate the end of the year as we look forward to the year ahead. This is a family and community event and I hope people will come out and enjoy themselves, meet family and friends in a relaxed atmosphere."
Admission to this free event is by ticket only. Tickets are now available to be picked up from The Playdrome, The Meadow Centre, The Vale Pool and Tourist Information Centre in Balloch.
Your Radio Presenter, Dave Ross says, “The Hogmanay during the Day event will be ideal for families to get into the mood for the Bells. Bands will be on stage from 1pm to 4.30pm and Your Radio will be keeping everyone entertained.”
The MacDonald brothers will be performing songs from their recent chart topping album, Young Celts and are looking forward to returning to their established fan base in the area.
Cheeky Celtic Spirit consisting of 2 burly drummers and a piper will play their unique style of traditional music with a contemporary twist. Band member, Jason Prentice says, “We are renowned for our classic performances of Queen’s rock classic “We Will Rock You” and ACDC’s “Thunderstruck”! We predict that everyone will have a fantastic time!”
Raggle Taggle Gypsies intend on playing their lively mix of Celtic Folk, Latin and Pop Covers plus their own original songs form their album “Hasta La Vista”.
A funfair and hot snacks will also be available to keep the kid’s happy
