THE MacDonald Brothers gave Razz competition winners Kerrie Young, 16, and her sister Nicolle, 15, from Lochgelly, an early Christmas present when they played at their home.

Ayrshire-born brothers Craig and Brian offered to play a set for a Razz reader to celebrate the release of their Cash For Kids Christmas single, Three Cheers For Christmas, and to thank readers for their support.

“Three Cheers for Christmas” is being heavily supported by many of Scotland’s leading Radio Stations as the official "Cash for Kid" Christmas Single!

The MacDonald Bros who wrote the track, are donating all the money from this single to the Childrens Charity "Cash For Kids"

Listen out to your local radio stations (Clyde 1 and 2, West FM and Westsound, Forth 1 and 2, Tay FM and AM, Northsound 1 and 2 and MFR) to hear the single.  It can be downloaded from the 13th December

You will have to be quick though as its available for one week only!  "Three Cheers For Christmas" features Ravenswood Primary School Choir from Cumbernauld who won a competiion to appear on the lads Christmas Album.

We are hoping the "Cash For Kids" Single reaches a Scottish Top 10 Chart position this Christmas but we need your help!  Tell as many people as you can, every download will make the difference.  Tell your family and friends, neighbours, anyone! - remember every penny raised goes to "Cash For Kids" so please help us raise as much as possible!

Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy the track!!

Former X Factor finalists The MacDonald Brothers played a special gig to thank staff for a photo shoot.

The duo sang at Xscape’s Sno!Zone a t Braehead where they were pictured for the cover of their Christmas album.

Craig and Brian, both 23, from Ayr also signed copies of the album – called Merry Christmas – after the gig at the Xscape Log Cabin.

Craig said: “We took the Christmas album cover pictures there so this was a thank you! Luckily it was in the warm and not on the slopes.”

The brothers’ latest single, Three Cheers for Christmas, comes out on Sunday. It is in aid of the Cash For Kids charity and will be available for download for one week only.

The pair reached the final of The X Factor in 2007 – Craig tipped Joe to win this year’s contest – and have enjoyed success since being voted off the show.

They sold out Glasgow’s Pavilion Theatre and are currently on a Scottish tour.

They have also been successful in Australia.

Superstar Elton John even wrote them a song called Runaway (Do You Love Me) and when their self-titled album came out they were mobbed by fans at HMV in Glasgow’s Argyle Street

Sandi Thom signs up for Stirling’s Hogmanay

Friday, 9th October, 2009

Scottish musician, Sandi Thom was today announced as the final piece of the jigsaw for Stirling’s Hogmanay party at the Castle 2009.

Sandi will join fellow performers the MacDonald Brothers and Gary Mullen to bring in the bells at a distinctively Scottish New Year party to round of the Year of Homecoming.

Sandi Thom

Stirling Council in association with Central FM and Aurora Hotels are hosting the celebrations at the esplanade at Stirling Castle with brisk ticket sales already that allowed people to take advantage of the credit crunching £10 ticket offer throughout September.

Sandi famously came to the world’s attention in that same tiny basement with her ‘21 nights in Tooting’ tour – three weeks of concerts that she sent out to audiences worldwide via the Internet.  And when ‘I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker’ was released it went straight to number one in the UK and went on to be a hit worldwide. In Australia alone, it topped the charts for a record-breaking 12 weeks.

Gary Mullen

Freddie Mercury performer, Gary Mullen has never played a Hogmanay gig in Scotland before, saying that already the anticipation is building and feels privileged to be asked to perform on stage in Stirling, especially on New Years Eve

The MacDonald Brothers said that they love performing at Hogmanay, but this year there will be an added bonus of playing with the backdrop of Stirling Castle, adding that this will go down as one of their highlights of their young career.

Stirling Provost Fergus Wood, said: "Getting Sandi Thom on the bill is a real coup adding to a fantastic line up that will no doubt be a memorable hogmanay at Stirling Castle, providing fun for all the family and at prices that most can afford.  The bells will be brought in, in a traditional style with massed pipes and drums crossing the castle drawbridge and a fantastic firework display to illuminate the historic Top of the Town."

Tickets for Stirling's Hogmanay are on sale from the box offices at the Albert Halls, Tolbooth, Macrobert and SECC online

Dundee Youth Awards 2008 - Special Appearance

The MacDonald Bros

Wellgate sponsors Youth Awards

As always, the Wellgate Shopping Centre is at the heart of the community and is delighted to be revealed as the proud main-sponsors of the Evening Telegraph Youth Awards.

The press often portrays the youth of today in a bad light, with reports of anti-social behaviour and violence. In reality, the majority of young people are hard-working and valuable members of the community.

So the Wellgate has teamed up with the Evening Telegraph to sponsor a glittering awards ceremony at the Apex Hotel on Friday 21st November, with a special appearance from the MacDonald brothers of X-Factor fame.

Twelve awards will be presented on the night, recognising and rewarding young Dundonians' achievements in various categories ranging from environmental awareness and academic success to overcoming disability and community involvement
